Youth Education Hour
All Youth grades 6-12 are invited to the Youth Rooms starting September 10th at 9am for our Education hour. We are currently in the book of James. Donuts or pancakes are always on the menu.
Birchwood Youth is a ministry with the intention of crafting fellowship and activities to explore faith and deepen relationships with each other and Christ. We are inclusive no matter one’s faith or cultural background with the goal of providing space for students to know God.
For the 2017-18 school year, we have decided to change things up a bit. Here are some details:
- The Grove at Birchwood Youth is for students in grades 8-12. We meet weekly during the school year on Wednesdays from 7-8:30pm to worship together, hear relevant teaching, and meet with a small group of friends to cultivate healthy relationships.
- The Path at Birchwood Youth is for students in grades 5-7. We meet every other Friday from 6-7:30pm to have pizza, play a game, worship, spend time in the Word, and meet with a small group of friends to be in step with one another on life’s journey.
- Why the change?
This is an odd year where we have a lot of high school students and more 5th graders than there are 6th and 7th graders. To be better tuned in with the needs of the students at Birchwood, we have decided to make a program, The Path, for those students in 5th through 7th grade. Moving into 2018-19, it will shift into a complete High School and Middle School ministry.
Looking to Serve?
If you are looking to serve with some of the coolest Youth in the Pacific Northwest, then you’ve come to the right place! We are searching for about 3 adults to come be a part of what God is doing at Birchwood and invest in students on a weekly basis throughout the school year. We ask that you commit to coming Wednesday nights and to monthly events or retreats when available. It is not necessary, but encouraged, to attend our Sunday Worship. If you have questions or would like more information, please contact our Youth Director. See the Volunteer Description here!
