Birchwood Presbyterian Church

Short-Term Missions

Feed My Starving Children

Twice – in 2014 and 2015 – BPC’s Missions Committee gathered 400 volunteers from across Whatcom County to fill more than 100,000 “food packets” for hungry people in third-world countries and raised over $20,000 to cover the costs of doing so. The project has been one of the largest and most successful in recent Birchwood history. Future outings are under consideration.

Operation Christmas Child

For many Novembers, Birchwood members have filled shoes boxes with toys, school supplies, and personal hygiene products. These “Christmas boxes” are sent to Mongolia, the Philippines, Peru, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Native American tribes throughout North America. Birchwood became a Drop Off Center for other churches and organizations in 2013 and the Collection Center for Whatcom County in 2016.
