Healing Ministries
Congregational Prayer
This group prays for the needs of our church on Thursdays, 9:30-10:30 am in the Chapel. Contact Bud Lee for more information.
Deacons
The Board of Deacons, among its many areas of concern, serves parishes or groups of families of BPC. Each deacon or deacon couple serves ten to fourteen families in prayer and regular contact. The deacons are great resources for many of your needs and will help direct you to specialized help, if they cannot serve you directly. If you are unsure of your parish assignment, check the church directory or call the church office (733-8860) to be placed in one.
Healing Prayer
During the Lord's Supper, usually served on the first Sunday of each month, those desiring prayer for healing are prayed for by teams of two. At the close of each Sunday service a prayer team is available for special concerns. Also special requests for healing can be made through Bud Lee.
Prayer Tree
A large group of BPC "faithfuls" pray individually for needs of the church and for needs of individuals both within our church family and outside of it. BPC will assist you in your special needs through prayer. Contact Allyson at the church office at 733-8860 during the week day office hours or Lynn Willett by email or phone and mention that you would like your request put on the Prayer Tree. If you are placing a request in behalf of someone else, please obtain their permission first as a courtesy and for reasons of confidentiality.
Parish Nurse
Birchwood participates in the Parish Nurse program, a nationwide program that links the healing beliefs of a church body with supporting health organizations. In this community's case that is St. Joseph's Hospital.
Sue Wright, our Parish Nurse, and Nadeen Clarke, our Health Minister, are available to answer health-related questions and concerns. Call the church office for contact information.
This program is also supported by BPC's Health Committee, who sponsors Flu Shot Clinics, blood pressure screenings, and classes on health issues.
Stephen Ministry
Everyone has times of difficulty and needs someone to care, listen, and share God's love. We wish to serve those who are experiencing brokenness by extending Christ's caring and compassion person to person. For more information contact our pastoral staff, Bruce or Bud, or the Stephen Leader, Irene Newell.
