Administrative Ministries

General Maintenance - Assist the ever-growing demand to maintain our facilities. Help with cleanup, do small painting projects, help assemble equipment, clean out gutters, etc.Contact: Claude Robinson
Landscaping & Grounds Keeping - Help keep our lawns, courtyards, and shrubbery watered, weeded, mulched, mowed, and trimmed.Contact: Claude Robinson
Office Volunteer - Work at the Welcome Center one morning or afternoon a week, answering the phones, greeting people, making copies, preparing mailings, folding bulletins, and other general office duties. Substitutes are needed to fill in for volunters on vacations. Volunteers are also needed to help with once the month newsletter assembly.Contact: Joyce Hiller
Wedding Hostess-Helper - Volunteers are needed to help the Wedding Coordinator with various activities and receptions that occur from time to time, preparing refreshments, setting up, and cleaning up.Contact: Allyson Vlas

 

Adult Ministries

Adult Discipleship Classes - Volunteers are needed to lead/teach new classes, assist leaders with welcoming and hosting on Sunday mornings.Contact: Mary Becker 
Birchwood 101 - This ongoing class is for those who are new and want to know more about our church. It meets on Sunday mornings at 11:00 am for three weeks. It is a prerequisite for the New Members ClassContact: Bud Lee
Congregational Prayer Meeting - This group prays for the needs of our church on Thursdays, 9:30-10:30 am.Contact: Bud Lee
Library - Volunteers are needed to help catalog books and maintain the library.Contact: Betty Wilbee
Meadowbrook Piecemakers - This group of quilters meets every 3rd Thursday at 10 am to noon. The quilters make baby quilts for the Deacons to distribute for new babies and they also make a raffle quilt for every fall's craft show.Contact: Ardith Stark
New Members Class - For those who want to join the church, have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ, and have attended the Birchwood 101 class.Contact: Bruce Becker
Seasonaires - A fellowship group for those over 55 meets on the third Tuesday night at 5:30 pm for dinner ($3) and a program, September - JuneContact: Bud Lee
Small Groups - People meet regularly for Bible study, support, fellowship and prayer in a connecting atmosphere.Contact: Harold Scott 
Stephen Ministry - Training for helping people in crisis is offered occasionally.Contact: Irene Newell

 

Children Ministries

Birchwood Christian Preschool - Share your talents one morning a week in a preschool setting with 3 to 5 year olds.Contact: Kodi Aubert
Children's Ministry Team - Provides safety, direction, cohesiveness & continuity to our Sunday morning childcare programs.Contact: Jeannie Dayton
Children's Care - Volunteers are needed to assist with children 4 years old through Kindergarten after they leave the worship service.Contact: Jen Zimmerman
Nursery - Volunteers are needed to serve newborns through two year olds one Sunday every three months.Contact: Jen Zimmerman
Sunday School - Teach or assist in any classes starting at two years old to fifth grade, starting at 10:50 am during the school year. Teachers work in teams committed to building relationships with children in order to guide them in life-changing Bible learning. Commitment is for one year.Contact: Jen Zimmerman
Vacation Bible School - Teachers, assistants, and helpers are needed each summer for one week in July.Contact: Jen Zimmerman

 

Men's Ministries

Men's Friday Morning Fellowship - 6:30 am breakfast every other Friday for support and fellowship.Contact: Doug Robertson
Men's Retreat - Held annually in May for spiritual renewal and fellowship. Volunteers are needed to help plan and implement.

Women's Ministries *

Bible Study Fellowship - Women meet on Monday nights during the school year for Bible study. A children's program is provided for grades 1-8 at the same time.Contact: LeAnn Young
Presbyterial Women's Association - A study and luncheon is held the first Thursday of each month.Contact: Norma Acalin
Women's Retreat - Held annually in March for spiritual renewal and fellowship. Volunteers are needed to help plan and implement.Contact: Sue Moore

 

* Worship Ministries *

Choir - Rehearses Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm and sings during both services on Sunday. The only requirements are that you love the Lord, like to sing, enjoy having fun and are high school age or older.

Drama - Volunteers are needed for drama on Sunday mornings and for other services and events.

Greeters - Meeting everyone and making them feel welcome on Sunday mornings.

Musicians - Skilled musicians who have a heart for worship are invited to audition to lead on Sunday mornings.

Sound Technicians - Experienced/trained volunteers needed to enhance our worship times.

Ushers - Volunteers are needed to pass out bulletins, direct people to empty seats and collect the offering.

Van Drivers - This outreach opportunity needs volunteers to pick-up people for Sunday morning services.

Youth Ministries

Middle School and High School Youth Groups - We envision youth at BPC who love God, love others, and help others love God.
